Being a Panel Member in Ayrshire

Ayrshire Area Support Team (AST) consists of three local authorities - East Ayrshire, North Ayrshire and South Ayrshire. Prospective Panel Members are expected to live or work within the geographical boundaries of one local authority area but may have the opportunity to sit as a Panel Member in any area within Ayrshire.

Panel Members in Ayrshire are expected to commit to sitting on two children’s hearing sessions every month.

Local Training Events

  • Once you have completed your pre-service training, there will be regular local learning and development evenings offered in each area every year. You should attend as many of these as possible.
  • Local training will focus on local services available to families and practice issues particular to Ayrshire. Topics are relevant to issues arising in the area or new services which Panel Members should know about.
