"Today is the first day of Volunteers’ Week, a week of celebration that we take very seriously here at Children’s Hearings Scotland.

As National Convener, I have the privilege of leading this organisation, working with volunteers from across Scotland every day.

You dedicate your time to infants, children and young people in your local communities. The compassion and empathy and commitment that you bring to your role is simply outstanding.  

It is clear that you keep children’s rights at the very heart of what you do. Whether you are a Panel Member, sitting on children’s hearings, or a member of the Area Support Teams offering a unique insight into support on a local level – you are making a real difference.
